Reference projects

 

CoastInfo International and our personnel was involved in projects such as:

  • Ministry of Infrastructure, Public Works and Water Management (Netherlands): project management of the nature legislative (Natura 2000) part of extensive infrastructural projects 
  • Ministry of Infrastructure, Public Works and Water Management (Netherlands): organization of a workshop about policy and management
  • Ministry of Infrastructure, Public Works and Water Management (Netherlands): organizing a workshop on dynamic coastal management
  • Ministry of Infrastructure, Public Works and Water Management (Netherlands): drafting an evalution report on the NetCoast project
  • Province Zuid-Holland (Netherlands): organization of a design workshop coastal development
  • Municipality of Katwijk: Conducting an Ecological Impact Assessment (including measures for mitigation and compensation) for the establishement of a land reclamation project including a marine at Katwijk (Netherlands)
  • Municipalities Katwijk, Noordwijk and Zandvoort (Netherlands): drafting of the sustainability assessment reports for the Quality Coast Awards (which were awarded)
  • Municipality of The Hague (Netherlands): management of the project "The dunes for everyone", on how to create support amongst immigrant groups for coastal management


Examples of other projects our staff was involved in:

  • Member of the steering committee and NATURA2000 expert in the Bulgarian/Dutch MyCoast project on establishing Integrated Coastal Zone Management in Bulgaria
  • Providing ecological advice to provinces and municipalities on nature conservation, involving: Natura 2000, the Main Ecologic Infrastructure and protected flora and fauna
  • Drafting a policy document and protocols for ecological research (this policy document was an example on the website of the Dutch Association of Muncipalities) 
  • Providing advice on how to integrate the Dutch Main Ecologic Infrastructure in the centres of the municipalities of The Hague, Katwijk and Noordwijk
  • Drafting the applications for permits for spatial projects for the Dutch Flora and Fauna Conservation Act
  • Lecturing about coastal management, nature management and conservation, flora and fauna, nature conservation legislation, sustainable development, environmental policy, spatial planning with: University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), University of Applied Sciences Hogeschool InHolland (Netherlands), University of Khon Kaen (Thailand), Wageningen University (Netherlands)
  • Conducting ecological research in Canada, Kenia, Netherlands and Russia (shorebirds, gulls, geese and ducks)
  • Drafting a consultancy report on the subjects solid waste management (University of Khon Kaen, Thailand) 
  • Drafting a consultancy report on sustainable tourism along the Songkram River, Thailand (University of Khon Kaen, Thailand) 
  • Drafting a consultancy report on the application of environmental policy planning and the policy cycle in the political decision making process (University of Khon Kaen, Thailand)
